Electromagnetic clutches realize power engagement and disengagement by electromagnetic attraction. Main components: coil, armature, friction plate/tooth disc, driving shaft, driven shaft and springs.

1. Installation Notes

1) Coaxiality must meet requirements. Misalignment will cause vibration, abnormal noise and rapid unilateral wear of friction plates.

2) Lock the flange of the fixed end to eliminate axial play during operation.

3) The wiring shall be waterproof and dustproof; prevent the coil from being soaked by cutting fluid and oil stains.

4) Wet clutches must be filled with specified type of lubricating oil; dry operation is prohibited.

2. Commissioning and Operation Details

1) Long-term half-clutch slipping is forbidden (short-time buffering is acceptable; continuous slipping leads to rapid temperature rise and burnout of coils and friction plates).

2) Maintain stable voltage. Insufficient voltage reduces suction force and causes continuous slipping and heat generation.

3) Install cooling fans for equipment with frequent start-stop cycles, as high temperature will weaken magnetic force.

4) Prevent overload stalling of magnetic powder clutches, which may cause sintering and seizure of magnetic powder.

3. Daily Maintenance Cycle

Daily: Listen for abnormal noise and burning smell during operation; check whether wiring terminals are loose.

Weekly: Clean dust and iron scraps on friction plate surfaces (dust in sawing machines and hardware processing equipment easily causes abrasion).

Monthly: Measure coil resistance to judge coil aging or open circuit; check the remaining thickness of friction plates and replace them immediately when lower than the limit thickness.

For wet type units: Replace lubricating oil regularly and clean abrasive debris in oil.

Long-term shutdown: Cut off power supply and wipe off dust for rust prevention.
