What are the common faults and corresponding solutions of single-shaft magnetic powder brakes?

1. Unstable tension with fluctuating torque

Insufficient or agglomerated magnetic powder: Disassemble the unit and replenish new magnetic powder;

Aging coil and unstable current: Check the output voltage of the controller;

Shaft misalignment and bearing wear: Calibrate coaxiality and replace bearings.

2. No braking force after power-on, free rotation of material roller

Open circuit of coil or loose wiring;

No 24V output from the controller;

Complete leakage of magnetic powder with no medium left in the clearance.

3. Abnormal operating noise and rustling friction sound

Insufficient lubrication or damaged bearings;

Moist and agglomerated magnetic powder scraping the inner wall of the rotor.

4. Excessive temperature rise and frequent tension loss

Undersized selected torque leading to long-term overload operation;

Damaged cooling fan and poor ventilation;

Excessively long duration of large slip difference.

5. Black powder leakage contaminating coiled materials

Aging oil seals on both ends. Replace sealing parts and clean residual old magnetic powder inside the cavity.
